Stryker Brigade to
receive new
Squad Weapons Maintenance Kits
While
exhibiting our Small Arms lubricants at Ft. Benning’s
Army Infantry Training Center, Sentry Solutions was
approached by a Colonel from the Fire Support Armaments
Center at Picatinny Arsenal.
Fire
Support Armaments Center is hosted by ARDEC (Armament
Research, Development and Engineering Center),
Headquartered at Picatinny Arsenal, N.J.
Picatinny Arsenal’s mission is to support the
Army’s transformation process. ARDEC is the Army's
principal research center for the development of future
armament and munitions systems. More than 2,500 highly
skilled scientists, engineers and technical specialists
are tasked with giving our troops the best and most
effective equipment possible.
The
personnel at ARDEC saw a need for a Cleaning System and
Cleaning Kit to give soldiers additional tools to keep
their weapons (M-4/M-16) and magazines clean and running
in whatever conditions they face. Our military strives to
equip our troops with the most efficient tools available
and that is in keeping with Sentry Solutions’ mission.
Our product line was developed to give our troops
new technology based products for this new age of war
fighting.
The
Squad Weapons Maintenance Kit is for use by the Stryker
Brigades http://www.strykernews.com/
. The kit helps soldiers maintain their individual
weapons with supplemental maintenance technologies. Our
troops have been using assorted gun care products, many of
these utilize “old technology”. Sentry Solutions
products are too new and remain unknown to many military
personnel. For the last ten years Sentry Solutions has
been supplying mainly special operations teams. In early
2002, forty soldiers from Ft. Drum deployed to
Afghanistan, started sharing their TUF-CLOTHs with another
seven hundred soldiers from Ft. Campbell. That is when the
Army got a chance to see just how good Sentry Solutions
products were for the operating conditions they faced in
the deserts and mountains of Afghanistan.
Each
kit consists of a durable carrying case, a refillable
compressed air can with hand pump, plastic finger sprayer
bottles for applying lubricant, magazine speed loaders,
rifle cleaners, gun cleaning picks, magazine protective
bags, protective dust caps, assorted paint brushes and ten
TUF-CLOTHs (the new alternative to gun cloths of
yesteryear). As of 2005, more than 10,000 TUF-CLOTHs have
been incorporated to these Kits.
As
of 2006, the “down range PXs” only sell two Small Arms
Lubricants- TUF-CLOTH and TUF-GLIDE.
